Start with a feeling.
A few colors that get along beautifully. Choose a palette, then use the closest shades in your own collection.

Try apricot and ember for the dragon, sage and moss for the greenery, and butter for warm little details.

An easy place to begin

Build the big shapes.
Start with the character and larger areas. Keep your touch light with pencils. With markers, fill one small area at a time and let it dry before adding more.
Add a little magic.
Repeat a favorite color in a few smaller details. If you like, add a darker shade along one edge for depth. Leave some white space, or fill it all. It’s yours.
Using markers? Slip a spare sheet behind your page to protect the next one. Test your paper and colors first, especially with alcohol markers.
